Is an intensive driving course right for you?

Over half of all calls to driving schools are requests for intensive or 'crash' courses. It seems everyone is in a hurry to get their driving licence.

It's a pretty major investment for a lot of people and we want to help make sure you get it right!

Please answer the following questions honestly!

  • Do you learn well under pressure?

  • Are you good at exams?

  • Do you really need to learn quickly?

  • Can you take time off work for an intensive course?

  • Can I afford to pay for a course?

If you have answered yes to each of the above then we should be able to help you. If you have answered no to some of the questions then perhaps a semi-intensive course of 2 to 6 hours per week would be a better option. (yes - we do these as well!)

Managing your course

It is important for you to understand the waiting times for lessons and exams. These are sometimes beyond our control. The flow chart will help you.

We can often get dates at shorter notice than advertised by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) but can't promise anything except our best efforts.

The assessment lesson will help you decide whether you can relate to the instructor and find the car easy to drive. It helps us decide which length of course is right for you.

The ideal situation is to

  • do an assessment lesson

  • plan your course and test date for several weeks afterwards

  • have 2 hours each week up to the week of the course

  • adjust up or down the number of hours needed

  • do the course

  • pass the test

  • recommend your friends!
